    Sister Pauline Gagné, Former Member of PACT-Ottawa (Persons Against the Crime of Trafficking in Humans)

    Topic: The Many Faces of Human Trafficking/Modern Slavery

    Pauline Gagné is a Franco-Ontarian, a high school teacher specialised in special education, a social worker and spiritual director.  Pauline has always been very much involved in promoting the rights of French speaking people in Ontario.  She has served on the Board of Francophone Ottawa-based organisations such as La Magie des LettresAmi Jeunesse and Centre espoir Sophie, and is presently serving on the Catholic Center for Immigrant Board.  

    Pauline is a member of the Sisters of Charity of Ottawa.  She has been a missionary in Zambia, Haiti and Papua New Guinea, teaching and/or involved in social justice work.   Pauline was head of the Integral Human Development Diocesan Office in the Daru-Kiunga Diocese (Papua New Guinea).  She has also been the Ontario francophone JPIC-person (Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation) for the Canadian Religious Conference (CRC).  She was a member of PACT-Ottawa (Person’s Against the Crime of Trafficking in humans) since 2004 until it’s dissolution in 2023.
